What is JOBfest
JOBfest is an annual half-day event that brings together employers who have a genuine recruitment need, with local students and young job seekers who are eager to enter the workforce.
Businesses find the employees they need and young people have the opportunity to get in front of employers committed to helping young people into employment and training.
JOBfest is the perfect place to find the ideal candidate. We can help to smooth the path to recruit the right young person.

We’ll have real jobs and real opportunities on offer from employers that want to take on young people.
To get the most out of JOBfest make sure you bring your ‘A’ game. Come along job ready, with your updated CV. Dress for success and be ready to make the best impression if someone wants to interview you on the spot.

What’s in it for businesses?
Before JOBfest we identify the young people who best match your needs. You can meet them at JOBfest.
JOBfest gives you the chance to meet interview-ready candidates for jobs you need to fill. Employing young people is an investment in your future and we will provide the support you need to help integrate new staff into your workforce.
If you recruit a young person directly through JOBfest, we can support them and you when they enter your workforce. Otherwise, after JOBfest we will follow up with the young people who you would like to interview for a job, offer work experience or holiday work too.
So, if you’re a business with genuine employment, work experience or training opportunities for young people call us today to secure your place at JOBfest.
Porirua JOBfest 2017 was a great success, with 30+ businesses showcasing job and training opportunities to hundreds of young job seekers.
Partners Porirua Executive Director, Michelle Robinson says there was a real buzz at JOBfest, with young people impressing employers and registering their interest in what these businesses had to offer.
JOBfest is an initiative of the Porirua Youth 2 Work Movement, which is led by Partners Porirua. Michelle says they are delighted with the backing received to hold JOBfest for the second year running.
“We couldn’t run this event without the support of our sponsors, Porirua City Council, local businesses, education providers and volunteers on the day. It’s a real team effort.”
